Little Support, Political Downfall and Economic Conflicts, were some reasons why Communism in Eastern Europe collapsed. Joseph Stalin's poor decisions, led the USSR to collapse. Putting money into Defensive Arms as opposed to the country itself led to the collapse. The Soviet Union collapsed due to the fact that there was no money. Socialism and numerous competitions also led the Soviet Union to collapse. The Collapse of Communism did in fact change the world because numerous countries changed in to Capitalists.

Film lesson The Right Stuff

In the film "The right stuff" USSR and US were in a Space race! The space race was to see who can get a man in space first. At first the US was winning because We were the first to break the sound barrier. The reason why we entered this race was because the Russians had the first satellite to orbit the earth. So we got upset And decided to send someone up into space, like a test pilot, but publicist thought it would be bad to send a test pilot because they would have to ensure their safety and return! So in 1961 after many test runs of launching the space ship, and various tests for the pilots, We decided to send a monkey. So two weeks later after our sucsessful launch Russia sent a man in space named Yuri Gugarin a Russian. So we had a bad start but later on we won.

NATO and Warsaw Pact

Basically the NATO was an alliance of different states with the purpose to defend each other in case that a fellow state is under attack by the Soviet Union or "Warsaw pact". The countries that were in the NATO were the USA, UK, France, West Germany, Italy, Spain,Canada, and 21 other countries. Soviet Union established the Warsaw Pact for the same reason US established NATO, but they were more dangerous than NATO. The Alliance of Eastern European Communist states that gave the USSR the advantage because of "Satellite States." The members were East Germany, Poland,Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania.

Schindlers List

Schindler’s list showed the holocaust as a slaughter house for the Jews and the movie was very informative. There were scenes were it’s was just to sad to look at. The most powerful scenes was when the children were being burned, it was sad because they were being shot and burned just because of their religion. This film was a good but not as powerful as the night and fog.

Night And Fog

We are doing World War II in class now, and we are learning about the Holocaust, because it was a big part of the war in Europe. It was a devastating thing that happened. Many people died because of their race, being Jewish. It was a genocide. We watched a movie called "Night and Fog" and it was documentary about the Holocaust and what happened in the concentration camps and the life that was living there. They had images of the inmates and all the cruel things they've used to kill the Jews and other races that Hitler thought he was Superior of.

Treaty Of Versailles

The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty that was signed at the Palace Of Versailles in Paris, France. It was also a Treaty to end World War One. This Treaty is what Ended the war between Germany and the Allied Powers. The German were effected greatly by this. This caused many other germans to rebel. The Germans payed billions in war dues because of all the damages and civilian casualties they have caused. The Germans also lost much of their land in the treaty. Germany eventually gave back land to countries like Poland. Germany lost many territories they had overseas as well. I believe that this treaty was not fair because of all the billions of dollars they had to pay back. Many people say that the Treaty of Versailles led to the rise of Adolf Hitler because the Germans were in a great depression and Hitler being strong smart person he was felt that he had to lead Germany out of this. He gave them the hope they needed and fought back against the Associated powers. He wanted to make Germany Stronger again and he promised that by what the Treaty of Versailles did.

Ghandi Film

Ghandi helped India gain independence from Great Britain by boycotting, which means to stop doing buying, selling, or dealing someting. Ghandi and his people protested in a nonviolence way by doing this it will make the British look bad because they didnt fight back but took the abuse. He told his people to stop buying clothes because they were the one picking the cotton to make it and it was going to Britain to be made into clothes sell back to the Indians.He stops this by telling people to start weaving their own cloths. He would spend two hours a day spinning his own clothes. The other thing he did was starve himself when his people would try to fight back. He also went on a salt march to the sea to make his own salt because the British would make salt and sell it to the Indian people. By doing this Britain would lose a lot of money and it was a problem for them so the give them indecencies.

Mustafa Kemal

Mustafa Kemal modernized Turkey, he did this by taking control of the entire country. He modernized by doing the stupidist things. He made wearing a hat called the fez illegal. He also made the whole country dress in suites and wear hats with brims not the fez. He said that the clothes that they were wearing were garbage and just ripped sheets. He said that they had to wear the same clothes as the Americans and Europeans because that was the right thing to do because thats what they did.

WWI Causes

There were many causes of World War I, many of them throughout the year and the need crops or industrialization. It was based on nation leaders who aggressed over other countries for rights of their own. One of the causes were Nationalism, The principle was ignored for the peace in the congress of vienna. Another factor for the cause of world war I was imperialism. Great britain, Germany and France needed markets after having increased the manufacturing from the industrialized work. Another cause was from the Bismark alliences which led Germany, Russia and Austria- Hungary into an allience. There were many things that caused many leaders to fight for their rights, which eventually led to World War I.

The Opium Wars

The Opium war was during the Imperialism in China. The western Europeans were still exploring places, trying to find new resources. In China, they've found tea. The British only had one port in China. The British didn't like it, so they decided to trade Opium to the Chinese people for their tea. The people in China realized that it was a dangerous drug and they make it illegaly, and whoever uses it could die as a result.

Some of the hardships that the europeans faced in africa is mostly diseases. They faced diseases like malaria, this disease is contracted by mosquitoes. The europeans were not used to having mosquitoes around them. Them also faced bugs crawling into the ear and nose canal. They were not used to these conditions and got very sick. The Nile river was named after the queen because the explorers who found the river named it after there queen because they were from England. The europeans were able to conquer africa so easily because of the technology that they had. For example they had weapons, and the africans had nothing but spears. The europeans had machine guns and many troops that were very strong so it was very easy for them to conquer Africa.

In the imperialism project we had to label where all the goods came from, and then we had to color in all the country's that got controlled by the bigger country's. Like Great Britan, Italy, Germany, Spain, France, and Belgum.

Karl marx and communism

Karl Marx thought communism would ruin society. His prediction of society being ruined was correct. He thought that society would be overrun by business, and that thats all people would think about. And this is true, because everyone who has a business is just obsessed with work. All they due is work, like one of the comics we read everyone was a computer head, the computer ran there life. And this is now ruining society just like he predicted.

Karl Marx Industrial revolution

Karl Marx did not like the industrial revolution. He did not like it because he thought that the factory workers were being treated unfairly and that they should run the factory insted of the landlords running them. He wanted the workers to stage a revolution so they can try to gain power over the landlords. Karl made communism because he wanted the workers to all have the same rights and to be fare between the workers and the landlords

Evolution VS Creation

Evolutin is the thought that man evolved from lower life form (ape). The thought that we started out as fish the started to walk on land. Then the we turned into ape then we started to develope into a smarter version of ape. Then eventually we turned into man.

Creation is the thought that we were created by two people Adam and Eve. God created adam first then while he was sleeping he took one of his ribs and made Eve. Then Adam and Eve had kids which started life. Because after that there kids had kids then so on and so forth.

My thought is with creation. I side with this story because i am catholic. Also because i dont think we evolved from monkeys. I think that is impossible. But the story of Adam and Eve sound so much more logical than evolution.
